Pequeña Batalla is an accordion artist´s book. In it I establish a dialogue between J.D. Salinger´s The Catcher in the Rye and my own experiences, upbringing and remembrances. After having read the book in different stages of my life, I started finding uncanny connections between multiple symbolic figures, characters and objects that have a profound resonance in me. This opened up the possibility for fiction and reality to interact and re-write themselves in a visual narrative. The drawings are connected by different elements and texts that create a circular narrative, like a roundabout or merry-go-round present in Salinger´s novel; a constant figure in my own memories, which represents the everlasting cycles and struggles that prevent artistic autonomy and independence.
